I was going to rebuild the existing transfer case (NP205)
using the kit ($243.60) from Drivetrain Specialists.
After opening it pu and seeing the rust and pitted gears. I decided to
buy a recondition one. I returned the kit and bought one from Drivetrain
Specialists ($912.52) and mounts ($39.43) from Supension Restoration Parts.
At that time, I changed driveline and yokes
(South Bay Driveline, $688.15) to 1 ton. |

Installed missing smog pump adjusting bracket Bought a vacuum amp ($95.00) to get the EGR valve working correctly
since I cannot find a smog guy who looks the other way. California gas prices now $3.85. While trying to install the EGR amplifier,
found other emission control equipment that works in conjunction with amp to be missing. There are several different configurations
for the EGR system for this year but there is no under hood sticker so it is hard to determine which one is correct. Recalibrated
EGR valve and reconnected in its current configuration. It's now running much better. The engine was getting too much EGR with the
old calibration orifice.
